Each year approximately one third of ischemic strokes in the United States are classified as cryptogenic. While many strokes can be traced to cardioembolic, atherosclerotic or lacunar causes, between 10% and 40% are classified as cryptogenic. With limited guidelines, many professionals diagnose, treat and manage cryptogenic stroke differently. The series includes:
