Mobile FAQs:

Q: Can I view the mobile version on any device?
A: Yes – However, the NIHSS Mobile course is only intended to be compatible on the iPhone at this time and may not function normally on other devices.

Q: Will the mobile version run on any web browser?
A: No – The NIHSS Mobile course is designed to run specifically with the Safari web browser v.4 and higher.  If you experience any problems taking the mobile version, you should connect to iTunes and update the Safari browser on your iPhone.

Q: Is the mobile version of the NIH Stroke Scale the same as the non-mobile version that is available on the AHA’s Professional Education Center?
A: Yes.

Q: How do I claim credit for the mobile version of the NIH Stroke Scale?
A: After finishing the course on your iPhone log into the Professional Education Center at learn.heart.org, sign in and claim credit.

Q: Can I switch between the mobile and non-mobile version of the NIH Stroke Scale?
A: The entire course needs to be completed on the platform (computer or mobile) select during enrollment.  You will not be able to bookmark the mobile version and continue in the computer version.

Q: What can I do if the movies are loading slowly?
A: Try switching from WiFi to 3G or vice versa.  If they are loading slowly it will indicate that the current network may be having performance issues.  If you are not on WiFi, the movies that will get loaded are smaller, to accommodate for Edge or 3G bandwidths.

Q: If I lose connectivity on my iPhone, will my answers be saved?
A: Yes, your progress is automatically saved.

Q: Why is there a need for a "grace period" between each NIHSS test groups?
A: The "grace period" is recommended so that adequate practice of the Stroke scale is administered and is deemed appropriate.

Q: What is the time period recommended between each NIHSS test group?
A: After passing Test Group A, you should wait 6 months before taking Test Group B.

After passing Test Group B, you should wait 12 months before taking Test Group C.

Each additional module thereafter will follow the same 12 month interval.
